When I was a kid, my brother had the coolest wooden train set
I happen to have all girls, but I wasn’t going to let that little fact stop me from having a wooden train set
Like everything Melissa and Doug, this set didn’t disappoint. At under $70, the price was definitely right. I loved that I could easily set it up in the playroom or even on the kitchen table, and when we were ready to take it down, I could easily store it inside of its box to get it out of the way.
And best of all? It’s really fun to play with! This is one that the whole family has been having fun with. It has about 100 different track pieces, which allows for lots of different set up options and makes it interesting enough that my eight-year old will play with it. On the other hand, this wooden train set is easy enough to manage that my 5-year old doesn’t get frustrated.
And, since we’re trying to be a ‘greener,’ more eco-friendly family, I love that it doesn’t use any batteries or energy.
We also loved that this train set comes with four different plans, which gave my kids some good ideas for setting up tracks right out of the box (and made my architect husband happy). We’ve since had hours of fun coming up with our own track ideas, which provides a good educational opportunity for the kids.
Last, this is a great toy for sharing. With and eight and a five year old, I get a little sick of the fighting in the house over toys – this one has enough pieces and things to do that my kids will often play for hours…together!
Overall, it’s a great toy for the price. It’s extremely high quality and well-made. You can expect this one to last for years and years. It’s also fun, educational, and eco friendly. All things we love!! I definitely recommend putting this wooden train set
