My daughter came home from her dad’s house after Christmas with a Dora computer game with a doll. She’s been playing it ever since. It’s better than just your average educational computer game for kids, because it comes with an actual Dora doll that can be connected to the computer via a USB cable. Once the Dora Computer Game has been loaded (which takes awhile, I’m not going to lie), it has to download updates to the doll before it’s ready to play.
Here’s what we love about it. Kids can use the game to make cool things happen to the doll. Her eyes change colors, her hair grows, even her jewelry changes – right before your very eyes! The game also comes with mysteries that your child can solve with her Dora doll. For children who can’t yet read, the doll will speak many of the commands on the game, which helps children to navigate through the game without so much assistance from mom and dad!
Once you have the Dora Computer Game with the doll, you can add to your collection and unlock additional games – the makers of these games aren’t dumb!
The one downfall to this game is that the software takes a long time to load. It frequently has to download updates from the internet and you’ve got to have a lot of patience to wait for them to download in install on your computer/doll. I try to keep up on the updates BEFORE my kids want to play so they don’t get frustrated while waiting for it to get ready.
The doll and game cost just under $40 – not bad for the fun my kids have had so far with this educational computer game, but you could easily spend hundreds more buying all the other components that unlock more games. I’m not sure we’ll be buying much more right now, I think the original game has plenty to do for now!
